| Chocolate Base | ||
| 1/2 cup | butter | 125 mL |
| 1/4 cup | white sugar | 60 mL |
| 5 tbsp | cocoa | 75 mL |
| 1 tsp | vanilla | 5 mL |

| 1 cup | fine coconut | 250 mL |
| 1/2 cup | finely chopped nuts | 125 mL |
| 2 cups | graham cracker crumbs | 500 mL |
| Special Icing | ||
| 1/4 cup | butter | 60 mL |
| 2 tbsp | vanilla custard powder | 30 mL |
| 3 tbsp | milk | 45 mL |
| 2 cups | icing sugar | 500 mL |
| 4 oz | semi-sweet chocolate | 100 g |
| 1 tbsp | butter | 15 mL |
Chocolate Base
Measure butter, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and egg into top of double boiler. Set over hot water. Stir well until butter has melted and cook until mixture forms a custard.
Combine graham cracker crumbs, coconut and nuts. Add to chocolate mixture. Blend well. Press in 9-in X 9-in pan.
Special Icing
Cream 1/4 cup butter. Add milk which has been combined with 2 tbsp vanilla custard powder. Blend in icing sugar. Spread over chocolate base. Let stand 1/2 hour to harden.
Melt semi-sweet chocolate and 1 tbsp butter. Spread over icing. Refrigerate.
Cut in squares when set.
These no-bake bars are pure heaven! Freeze well.
