| 4 tbsp | margarine | 60 mL |
| 4 oz | semi-sweet chocolate | 115 g |
| 2/3 cup | boiling water | 150 mL |
| 2 cups | sugar | 500 mL |
| 1/4 cup | corn syrup | 60 mL |
| 1/4 tsp | salt | 1 mL |
| 2 tsp | vanilla | 10 mL |
Melt margarine and chocolate in heavy 3 qt/3 L saucepan over low heat. Stir in rest of ingredients, except vanilla.
Bring to boil over medium heat and cook without striring until sauce is thickened and dark and glossy, about 8 minutes.
Stir in vanilla. Serve hot over ice cream.
A thick hot fudge sauce to serve over ice cream. Store any leftover, covered in fridge. Reheat to serve.
