| 1 cup | onion, finely chopped | 250 mL |
| 2 cups | potatoes, pared and cubed | 500 mL |
| 1 tsp | salt | 5 mL |

| 1 cup | water | 250 mL |
| 2 cans | clams in liquid (5 oz/(142 g) | 2 cans |
| 2 cups | half and half cream | 500 mL |
| 3 tbsp | butter | 45 mL |
Chop bacon. Sauté in a large port until almost crisp.
Add onions and cook 5 minutes.
Add cubed potatoes, salt, pepper and water. Cook uncovered for 15 minutes or until potatoes are done. Place in food processor and blend until smooth.
Drain clams, reserving liquid.
Place potato mixture, clams, 1/2 clam liquid, cream and butter in a large pot. Mix well over medium heat.
Serve hot.
