Ingredients
| 2 packages | frozen chopped broccoli, thawed (10 oz/300 g each) | 2 packages |
| 1/4 cup | chopped onion | 60 mL |
| 2 cups | chicken broth | 500 mL |
| 2 tbsp | butter | 30 mL |
| 1 tbsp | flour | 15 mL |
| 2 tsp | salt | 10 mL |
| 1/8 tsp | mace | 0.5 mL |

| 2 cups | light cream (half-and-half) | 500 mL |
Directions
In a medium-sized pan, combine broccoli, onion, and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, or until brocccoli is tender. Whirl broccoli mixture in blender until very smooth. Melt the butter in a pan; add flour, salt, mace, and pepper, stirring until smooth. Slowly stir in cream, then add broccoli purée. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until soup bubbles. Serve hot.
