Ingredients

1 1/4 lbs beef, finely chopped 550 g
1 large egg, beaten 1
2 oz Gruyère cheese, grated 50 g
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 30 mL
1 medium onion, finely chopped 1
1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce 2 mL
2 tbsp olive oil 30 mL
  salt and pepper, to taste  

Directions

Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix very thoroughly. Roll into a ball. Divide the ball into 4 smaller balls of equal size and flatten them to the desired thickness.

Cook the hamburgers over a very hot fire for about 10 minutes, turning them frequently.
